Welcome to the UW-Madison Libraries

August 30, 2024

Welcome to the Fall 2024 semester! Whether you are returning or just starting out, we support your research and learning with our expertise, resources, and spaces. Here are ten library services to help you get started this semester!

  1. Study in a different library every day of the month. Or pull an all-nighter at College Library.
  2. Ask a Librarian any question online, by text, or in person. Or request a one-on-one consultation with an expert!
  3. Learn about Python programming, grant seeking strategies, our oral history program – or other topics and skills in a library workshop.
  4. Use our catalog to search for materials across the entire UW System. (Can’t find it in the catalog? Use Interlibrary Loan to request items from other institutions.)
  5. Reserve a study room for your study group or virtual meeting.
  6. Discover all of our databases, research guides, librarians and more organized by subject area.
  7. Instructors, put materials on reserve for your course so your students can get access to reading lists and reserves.
  8. Browse over a million objects in our online digital collection.
  9. Check out a laptop, an iPad, a projector, or a Switch. Or maybe you need a shovel?
  10. Use The Graduate Room at Memorial Library. (Sorry – this one’s for grad students only!)

Have a great semester!
