How to access Libraries resources after spring 2026 graduation
No longer a student? Not to worry. Just because you’ve left the classroom behind doesn’t mean you must bid an immediate farewell to your Libraries account. In fact, UW–Madison’s spring/summer 2026 graduates maintain most of the privileges linked to their library account until early fall 2026.
Spring/summer 2026 graduates have until September 15, 2026, to:
- Borrow and renew materials from UW–Madison and Universities of Wisconsin libraries
- Access Libraries-supported subscription services like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Kanopy, and more
- Place requests for physical items and partial digital copies from UW–Madison and Universities of Wisconsin libraries
- Place requests for physical items and partial digital copies from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
- Access databases, full-text, and other digital resources both on and off campus
- Access your borrowing history
Other services, such as equipment loans, study room reservations, poster printing, and Wiscard-related functions, may not be available. Use our Ask a Librarian service to get information about resources.
After September 15, 2026, as a UW–Madison alum you can still access our spaces and licensed online resources while on campus, along with guest wireless. Borrowing services are also extended to alumni who hold Courtesy or Annual Fee Cards. Review our Visitor Information page to understand what’s available to you once your library account ends.
