Borrowing Policies

In order to borrow materials from any UW-Madison library, you must present a valid UW-Madison ID, a UW System ID, or a Community Borrowing Card.

For UW students, faculty, and staff, the loan periods are as follows for most items:

UW-Madison and UW System Category Most Books and Government Documents Journals, Microforms, Government Documents, AV Materials
Faculty, Staff, Graduate Students Due at end of semester
(December 30 or May 30)
3 renewals allowed		 Varies by location
Undergraduate Students 28 day loan
2 renewals allowed		 Varies by location
