Memorial, Steenbock libraries extend weekend hours starting April 10

Beginning April 10, Memorial Library and Steenbock Library will offer extended weekend hours to support UW-Madison students, staff, and the community through the end of the 2025–26 academic year. 

Under the updated service schedules, both libraries will extend operations later into Friday and Saturday evenings. Steenbock Library will also open earlier on Saturdays and Sundays.

Updated Memorial Library Weekend Hours

• Friday: 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
• Saturday: 12 p.m.-8 p.m.

Updated Steenbock Library Weekend Hours

• Friday: 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
• Saturday: 12 p.m.-6 p.m.
• Sunday: 12 p.m.-11:30 p.m.

The expanded offerings come after a February 2026 extension in weekend service hours at College Library, which were expanded following student demand for library use on Fridays and Saturdays in the fall 2025 semester. Hours had previously been changed in summer 2025 in response to budget reductions.
