Lewis brings a distinguished record of leadership, having guided teams on initiatives that strengthened the School’s systems, funding, and budget planning, while advancing policies that reflect the values of both the School and the broader campus community. She joins the Libraries from the School of Education, where she served as Co-CIO and Co-Director of MERIT (Media, Education, Research & Information Technology).
“I’m elated to be joining the Libraries in this new role,” said Lewis. “I was drawn to the changing culture within UW–Madison Libraries: decisive, fast-paced, and strategically focused.”
Prior to her role at the School of Education, Lewis served as Interim Director of Research IT at the Wisconsin Center for Education Research (WCER), one of the largest university-housed educational research centers in the nation. She represented the university on the Divisional Technology Leadership Group, oversaw the Cooperative Children’s Book Center (CCBC) Library, and contributed to cross-campus committees, including most recently the Libraries Leadership Council (LLC).
As Associate Dean of Libraries for Information Technology & Administration, Lewis will lead the development, programming, operations, and assessment of several campus-wide library services, including information technology and administrative services. She will also cultivate relationships with stakeholders, advise on critical issues, and report annually on program and service achievements.
“I am impressed by the extraordinary staff who sustain both our critical day-to-day operations, while also providing the vision and execution to evolve our services to meet the changing needs of our clients at UW-Madison,” says Lewis.
The Libraries look forward to the expertise and vision Lewis will bring to this role, strengthening the institution’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and service excellence.
