Join our Interdisciplinary Graduate Reading Group

August 27, 2018

The Interdisciplinary Graduate Reading Group is open to any UW-Madison graduate student in any department or program on campus. Sponsored by the Libraries in collaboration with the Graduate School, the Group provides opportunities for connecting with peers from other disciplines.

How often does the group meet?
The group meets 4-6 times over the course of the academic year.

What do members of the group read?
During the 2018-2019 academic year, we’ll be using the Go Big Read book The Death and Life of the Great Lakes by Dan Egan as a starting place for our readings and conversations. By choosing a central text around which to build discussions, our intention is to facilitate rich, interdisciplinary engagement on a topic that is being discussed in our community. All registered participants will receive a free copy of the book. In addition, participants choose and read articles and discuss topics of interdisciplinary significance, allowing for the formation of networking connections with graduate students outside of their own academic departments.
