UPDATE: In-Person Collection Access appointments are required to access to the Audio Visual equipment in Mills Music Library. Appointments are available Monday – Friday, 1pm – 5pm, and must be booked 24 hours in advance.

Reading Room

The public space in Mills Music Library has seating for roughly 50 patrons. Equipment available:

  • 20 Public PCs, running Windows 10
  • Electrical outlets at most tables, and in all carrels
  • 3 turntables, CD player, Cassette player, and TV/VCR combo viewing station
  • 4 external optical drives to borrow at The Desk–3 with a loan period matching that of audiovisual materials, dependent on patron group, and 1 for library use only
  • Headphones available to borrow at The Desk
  • Microfiche reader only — The MMC (Microforms/Media Collection) Reading Room (262 D/E in Memorial Library) houses microfilm, microfiche and micro opaque reading stations, with some machines that facilitate digitizing

The Seminar Room, formally known as Memorial B162G, is a classroom for small classes requiring audiovisual playback equipment and easy access to library resources. Maximum capacity: 20. Equipment available:

  • PC, connected to 52″ LCD flat screen monitor, with wireless keyboard and mouse
  • Blu-ray Disc player (also plays DVDs), CD player, Turntable, Cassette player, and VCR
  • Connections for laptops and mobile devices: VGA, DVI, and HDMI; Audio cable for sound output
  • Mobile chalkboard with staff lines on one side
  • Upright piano
