Reading Room

The public space in Mills Music Library has seating for roughly 50 patrons. Equipment available:

• 13 Public PCs, running Windows 10
• 1 iMac Music Software Workstation, with Ableton Live 10, Max 8, and Finale; USB controller keyboard
• Electrical outlets at most tables, and in all carrels
• 2 turntables, cassette player, and TV/VCR combo viewing station
• 7 external optical drives to borrow at The Desk–6 with a loan period matching that of audiovisual materials, dependent on patron group, and 1 for library use only
• Headphones available to borrow at The Desk for library use only
• We no longer have a microfiche or microfilm reader — The MMC (Microforms/Media Collection) Reading Room (262 D/E in Memorial Library) houses microfilm, microfiche, and micro opaque reading stations, with some machines that facilitate digitizing

Seminar Room

The Seminar Room, formally known as Memorial B162G, is a classroom for small classes requiring audiovisual playback equipment and easy access to library resources. Maximum capacity: 20; 15 for a timetable course. Equipment available:

• PC, connected to 52″ LCD flat screen monitor, with wireless keyboard and mouse
• Blu-ray Disc player (also plays DVDs), CD player, turntable, cassette player, and VCR
• Connections for laptops and mobile devices: HDMI with USB-C, Lightning, and Mini DisplayPort adapters; Audio cable for sound output
• Mobile chalkboard with staff lines on one side
• Upright piano
