Welcome to Giving

Nowhere within the university is the sound of those voices more alive and more accessible than in its libraries. The number of students, teachers, and citizens using both physical and online collections is large and growing.

Over the years thoughtful donors have significantly enriched the libraries through gifts of books and journals and through the establishment of special funds for projects and purchases.

We gratefully acknowledge the generosity of our benefactors and encourage those who may be considering monetary gifts or gifts-in-kind to libraries. Your help has never been more important.

Give to the Libraries

Message from the Vice Provost

vangemert Without great libraries, there are no great universities.
This phrase really reflects my passion for the UW-Madison Libraries, and how important I know them to be to the University of Wisconsin. With that in mind, I offer my sincere thanks to you for your support of the UW–Madison Libraries. As we continue to build upon our core vision that the Libraries are essential partners in the creative exploration, intellectual growth, and scholarly pursuits of the University, we are strategically using your donations to add new spaces, resources, and technology to a library system that draws more than 3 million visitors each year—ensuring that the Libraries are the place on campus for inter-disciplinary teaching, research, and learning—a place to exchange and create new ideas with innovative tools and resources.Your support helps to ensure that the UW–Madison Libraries remain one of the top research library systems in North America.  Thank you!
