Friends Spring Book Sale – April 10-13, 2019

April 9, 2019

Browse thousands of books at unbelievably low prices!  This, the largest used book sale in Wisconsin offers more than 15,000 items covering almost any subject.  In addition to a wide variety of fiction, this particular sale contains concentrations in South African history and literature; maritime history; textile arts; Icelandic sagas, legends, and folklore; and Michigan and the Great Lakes.  You will also find plenty of other nonfiction topics such as engineering, technology, history, physical science, biological science, political science, law, health and medicine, religion, philosophy, art, music, travel, cooking, and Wisconsin.

Money raised during the sale goes toward funding library events including the Friends Annual Schewe lecture.  It also supports special purchases and preservation services for the Libraries. In addition, researchers are drawn to the UW-Madison Libraries from around the nation and the world via our visiting scholars’ program.

You can help by donating your discarded books or by volunteering at the book sale.  To donate, simply label your items “for the Friends” and drop them off year round weekdays at the Lake Street dock of Memorial Library, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  They will be considered for campus library collections prior to being sold at a sale.  If you have a large donation, you may arrange a book pickup.  To do so, or to join the nearly 60 book sale volunteers, contact the Friends:  Friends@library.wisc.edu or 608-265-2505.

See you at the sale!
