The Kazakhstan Series: Photo Essay

October 25, 2013

This is part of a series. The other two articles can be found here:

Victor Gorodinsky, Memorial Library’s Slavic Languages Cataloger, and Catherine Phan, Metadata Librarian for the University of Wisconsin Digital Collections Center were also part of the trip to Kazakhstan for the Nazarbayev University Library. They attended the conference “Current Trends of Global University Librarians: Experiences, Challenges, and Prospects 2013,” had a chance to explore the hosting city Astana, and meet new colleagues for long-term global relationships. You can read more about the experience in the previous articles of this series (linked above). In the last installment, we decided to provide a photo album of the trip! Hopefully it can inspire another UW–Madison student or librarian to head east. Astana’s architecture and character come through in this photos and NU’s beauty is on display as well. Thank you, Victor and Cat, for sharing these with us.
