The annual 2013 UW Libraries Blood Drive will take place on Wednesday, July 31 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in 116 Memorial Library. This is the official call for volunteers!  Organizers will need approximately 30 folks to sign up during the following hours to serve as registrars, donor room aides, and to man the refreshments table:

  • 8:50 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.
  • 10:40 a.m. to  12:20 p.m.
  • 12:10 p.m. to 2:10 p.m.
  • 2:00 p.m. to 3:50 p.m.

Additionally, a few volunteers will be needed to help set up the blood drive and to take the equipment, tables, etc. down to the American Red Cross truck following the blood drive.

According to event organizer Steve Frye, working the blood drive is good fun for a good cause: “If you are like me and cannot give blood because of American Red Cross donor policies, volunteering to staff our blood drive is an opportunity to take part in this very worthy cause.  It’s also a fun way to spend a couple of hours.  All shifts are staffed by two volunteers – making it a great way to meet new staff or catch-up with old acquaintances.”
