University of Wisconsin students, staff, and faculty must present a valid UW ID card in order to check out library materials at the Physics Library Circulation Desk. All other patrons must present either an annual fee card, a courtesy card, or runner card obtained from the Memorial Library Card Application Window.

For most patrons, the following loan information applies:

ILL items have a non-refundable $15 late fee. All lost items have a $100 lost fee.
To appeal a fine, use the Appeal of Library Charges form.
Most Math Library items may be returned to the book drop at the circulation desk or to orange book drop just outside the entrance to the library. You can also return Math library materials to any campus library participating in Open Return. Reserve books must be returned to the circulation desk to avoid fines.
All regular loan books are subject to recall by another patron. The original borrower is guaranteed 14 days; after that, the item is subject to any recalls issued by another patron. If a recall is issued, the due date will be changed and you will be notified. If you have a recalled item and it is overdue, you will not be able to borrow more materials until the recalled item is returned.
