Go Big Read

September 13, 2010

Two book discussions have been scheduled to discuss the UW-Madison Common Reading Program’s featured title, “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.” The book, which described the origin of the noted HeLa research cells, investigates the intersection of medical progress and medical ethics. The first discussion is set for Thursday, Sept. 30, at 7:00 p.m. in Room 1193, and the second is on Thursday, October 21, same time and place. The book’s author, Rebecca Skloot, will be coming to campus on Monday, Oct. 25, and is scheduled to speak at the Kohl Center at 7pm.

College Library has created a book display of titles inspired by the content of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Stop by the second floor to view available titles.
