On display are twelve intriguing artists’ books that showcase the strengths of the book arts collection:  interesting use of materials, inventive structures, and collaborative and interdisciplinary content.  Types of materials used in the books include paper towels, photographs, and found objects.  Structures range from magnetic interlocking blocks and crumpled slips of text to a double deck of cards and a sampler of handmade papers.  Content includes a graphic display of building engineering projects, conceptions of negative space, storytelling with pictograms, and experimental poetry, among other areas.  Through the use of diverse materials, forms, and topics, these books exemplify the broad creative ground that artists’ books inhabit.

The exhibition runs from July 10 through September 30.
