BTAA & Cambridge University Press Read-and-Publish Agreement

The Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) and Cambridge University Press (CUP) have entered into a “read-and-publish” agreement. This agreement provides participating BTAA members, including UW-Madison, multi-year read access to the CUP Full Journals package and uncapped open access publishing across all CUP hybrid and open access journals.

This benefit covers open access fees in the following circumstances:

When an eligible article is accepted for publication, the corresponding author needs to take steps to accept the benefit. The libraries are in collaboration with Cambridge University Press to develop support materials for authors and will be able to assist with arranging for retroactive coverage of eligible articles.

UW-Madison has opted into this three-year pilot to learn more about the implications of this type of read-and-publish agreement for the institution and for the scholarly publishing ecosystem.
