New Faces at the Libraries: Nate Ebert

March 10, 2021

The UW-Madison Libraries welcomes Nate Ebert, our new Recruitment and Employee Engagement Coordinator!

Nate previously worked as an IT recruiter at Oxford Global Resources before he joined the Libraries in June 2020. This position interested him because it gave him the chance to return to a higher education setting. He says it’s been a great fit so far – allowing him to use his past experience while also providing the opportunity to learn a new skill set.

Working with his colleagues has been the best part of his experience so far. Nate has enjoyed getting to know his HR teammates and looks forward to finally meeting everyone in person. As an extrovert, he’s found it a little exhausting spending so much time on his own and says he can’t wait to be back in the office every day!

He’s also really looking forward to this summer. A major ankle surgery in spring 2019 and the pandemic in 2020 limited his usual activities, so he’s crossing his fingers this summer is a lot better!

When he’s not working, you might find Nate and his partner, Devon, visiting the many shops on State Street on their way to The Union, where they like to sit by the water and watch the sunset before enjoying dinner at Fresco.

Four Fun Facts about Nate:

  1. Favorite book: The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I normally get absorbed into a book’s world, but I literally could not put it down
  2. Something surprising: I have never broken a bone before
  3. Standout Madison fact: Villa Tap has the best fish fry I have ever had. Haven’t found a place that even comes close yet
  4. Favorite color: Green
