Congratulations, Graduates! A message from the Vice Provost for Libraries

December 14, 2020

The Libraries’ staff and I congratulate you, graduates! What an extraordinary accomplishment this moment is — and you’ve made it during circumstances none of us could have imagined. While we’ve missed seeing you fill our library spaces this semester — studying in groups, late into the night, coffee in hand — we are glad that we could still find ways to stay connected with you on your academic journey.

It was wonderful to see you in online consultations with our librarians, requesting tens of thousands of pieces of research materials, picking up requested research materials, and even enjoying our “virtual library escape rooms.” We are glad you found the Libraries a key point of connection and a resource for your studies. Many of you even worked side-by-side with us to offer much-needed library services.

The perseverance and creativity you have employed over the last several months will serve you well as you step into this next chapter of your journey.

Congratulations! We can’t wait to see what you’ll do next. On, Wisconsin!
