Update on HathiTrust: Emergency Temporary Access Service

When our libraries were closed and we were unable to circulate physical books and other materials, the HathiTrust, in response to COVID-19, created an Emergency Temporary Access Service. The Service made 1.9 million of the print titles we hold available in digital form to UW-Madison faculty, staff and students. As we reopen, the conditions for the fair use of digital copies of these materials end and so does our access to their service. UW-Madison is deeply appreciative of the work our HathiTrust colleagues have done to deploy this service during an extraordinarily challenging time.

UW-Madison Libraries were among the founding members of the HathiTrust and continue to support their mission of preserving and facilitating access to materials held in research libraries around the globe.
