Along with Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum, the University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries invites guests to join a public reception on August 27 for Hamilton’s current gallery exhibition of Silver Buckle Press prints (closing August 31).
During the spring and summer of 2016 Tracy Honn, the retiring director of Silver Buckle Press, oversaw the organizing, packing, and relocation of Silver Buckle Press collections to Hamilton. Hamilton director Jim Moran, and his staff, were responsible for the major move and transport of type and presses. Along with Honn, Hamilton staff helped unpack and begin setting up the collection in the newly-designated and secure space at Hamilton. This process is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
In recognition of the work-in-progress and establishing Silver Buckle Press collections at Hamilton, we invite you to a celebration of this transition. Please join library staff and guests, along with Hamilton museum friends and supporters at a reception for the closing of this exhibition. Sneak peeks of the Silver Buckle Press space will be offered to UW attendees.
The celebration for the summer exhibition closing will take place on Saturday, August 27, at Hamilton in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, from 5-7 p.m. A spring 2017 event celebrating the full transition of the Silver Buckle Press to Hamilton will be announced at a later date.
