Anne Murphy-Lom Joins UW-Madison Libraries’ Human Resources Staff

The UW-Madison Libraries are pleased to announce that Anne Murphy-Lom has been named  to the Human Resources staff for the General Libraries. Anne fills the position being vacated by Pat Erickson, who is retiring after nearly a decade with the Libraries.

Anne has a tremendous background in administrative and financial leadership and management, as well as an appreciation for the Libraries. Her skills and knowledge will ensure this critical position continues to provide the important information and guidance in a variety of areas that impact every one of our employees.

Anne is a graduate of UW-Oshkosh. She has worked for UW-Extension as a payroll and benefits specialist, UW-Madison Center for Limnology as a program assistant supervisor, and most recently serving as an academic department supervisor at the UW-Madison School of Library and Information Studies.

She has over fifteen years of experience handling State and University personnel, payroll and benefits in various departments. Her skills also include extensive knowledge and experience in recruitment, management, mentoring and creating collaborative work environments. She is well versed in grant administration, purchasing, budget management, as well as the important one-on-one employee guidance related to any and all HR related issues. She is a proven leader who has over 150 hours of professional development training related to leadership, management, employee engagement, and conflict management, as well as a strong background in coordination of fundraising events.

Anne began on December 15.  Please help welcome her to the GLS.
