Students enjoy the Helen C. House Party

Mark your calendar and plan to attend the Helen C. House Party, hosted by College Library on Thursday, Sept. 11. Stop by anytime between 8pm and midnight and see the first two floors of the library transformed into a carnival. We’ve got pizza, games, and fun!

The 6th annual house party will feature carnival games, prizes, balloon art, team trivia, face painting, video games (including special guests from Games+Learning+Society), arts & crafts & hacks, a retro photo booth, and live entertainment. If you’ve ever wanted to try Human Foosball, this is your chance. The Ethnic Studies Reading room will be transformed into a netted court where players will be anchored to PVC pipe.  They will only be able to move side to side as they try to score a goal. If you want to get organized, visit with members of Sector 67 as they demonstrate simple hacks and their 3D printer. Staff from The Bubbler will also be on hand to showcase animation stations.

The house party will welcome a new event this year – a live performance by Madison band, The Gomers. Students will have the opportunity to show off their inner musician by performing in front of a live band with “Rockstar Gomeroke.”

The Helen C. House Party is a fun way to get students acquainted with College Library and all it has to offer. Last year, nearly 2,000 students attended this Welcome Week event. We hope to see even more of you there this year!
