Entrances

Mills Music Library is located in the basement of Memorial Library. See Accessibility at Memorial Library for building entrance accessibility information.

  • Enter and exit through the door opposite the Memorial Library Main Elevators. The door to the library is propped open during open hours.

Elevators

Use Memorial Library’s Main Elevators or Special Collections Elevator to access Mills Music Library.

  • Main Elevators: There are three main elevators which go to every floor from the basement to floor 7.
  • Special Collections Elevator: When facing toward the main three elevators, there is an additional elevator (#5) on the wall to the right which goes to every floor.

Parking & Transportation

Visitor parking is available at the following locations:

  • State Street Campus Garage located on Frances Street, just South of University.
  • Lot 6 located under Helen C. White Hall from N. Park St entrances.
    • Visitor Parking is available in Lot 6 (Street Level lot) at all times, but is often full. 
    • Visitor parking is available in Lot 6 (Lower Level lot) on evenings and weekends.

Emergency / Evacuation Procedures

Memorial Library does not have any Areas of Rescue Assistance (ARA). If you cannot self-evacuate for any reason, dial 9-1-1 and state your location. UWPD dispatchers will relay this information to responding personnel.

Accessible Furniture

All study carrels can accommodate wheelchairs. One carrel is designated for wheelchair users.

Reservable Study Rooms and Spaces

There are no reservable study spaces within Mills Music Library, but the Libraries have many reservable study spaces. Click here to make a reservation.

Quiet Spaces

All of Mills Music Library is a quiet space. Please lower your voice and keep your conversation brief.

Restrooms

There are single-stall, gender-inclusive restrooms available in the Basement of Memorial Library. Basement South: B173 and B177; no automatic doors.

Lactation and Baby Changing Space

Lighting

  • The Reading Room and Seminar Room use energy saving lights. If no one has moved in a zone within the Reading Room for a certain amount of time, the lights in that zone will turn off. The same applies to the entire Seminar Room.
  • There is a lamp in the Seminar Room.
