You are cordially invited to a grand reopening of the Office of the Gender and Women’s Studies Librarian!

Created in 1977, the Office of the University of Wisconsin System Gender & Women’s Studies (GWS) Librarian has become one of the premier resources for support of gender, women’s studies, and LGBT studies scholarship and librarianship and serves students, faculty, librarians, and administrators across the UW System and beyond. Located on the Madison campus, the GWS Librarian provides bibliographic and curriculum support, interinstitutional cooperation, information sharing, and advocacy related to the fields of women’s, gender, and LGBT studies and to gender-focused scholarship in the traditional disciplines. In addition, the Office publishes three periodicals and an online film database as well as bibliographies and occasional books.

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Gender & Women’s Studies Program at UW-Madison and in honor of our long-standing partnership, please join the Librarian, Office staff, GWS faculty, and friends on Friday, October 23, from 1pm to 3pm in our newly renovated office at Memorial Library, Room 430. Light refreshments will be served. We hope to see you!
