The databases listed below were either cancelled or discontinued by the vendor. Access ended/will end on the date specified.

2025

Effective 6/30/2025 – Techstreet Enterprise – database of industry standards

6/1/2025 – The Institutional Toolkit component of The Lens was cancelled. Access remains available to all freely available content in The Lens, an open scholarly literature and patent database.

Access to two EBSCO databases – Library Literature and Information Science Full Text (Wilson) (UW-Madison) and Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts with Full Text (DPI/BadgerLink) – will end on 6/30/2025, however their complete contents have been merged into Library & Information Science Source (EBSCO), which is already available from DPI/BadgerLink.

1/26/2025 – Scriver’s OMMBID : the online metabolic & molecular bases of Inherited Disease database

2024

7/1/2024 – The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) cancelled statewide access to Learning Express Library (EBSCO) available through BadgerLink.

2023

12/31/2023 – Marquette University discontinued production of the database Foundations in Wisconsin.

6/30/2023 – Russian Academy of Sciences Bibliographies – loss of access due to vendor EBSCO having removed the database from its product offerings.

Prior to 5/11/23 – Grant Forward (IRIS / Illinois Researcher Information Service) – access had been provided by Research and Sponsored Programs.

4/1/23 – Access to certain CNKI databases (East View) was temporarily suspended due to a data review under Chinese domestic law. Access was restored on 4/1/2024. Databases impacted by this outage were:

10/20/22 – ARBAOnline was discontinued by vendor

2/28/22 – Business Premium Collection and its sub-collections, including ABI/Inform and J.P. Morgan Research are being replaced by ProQuest One Business. All content from these databases is now available in ProQuest One Business.

06/30/18 – NewspaperARCHIVE – The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction cancelled the subscription for this database for BadgerLink; a contract for a replacement Historic Newspaper Collection for BadgerLink has not yet been confirmed.

06/26/18 – Kanopy (Films) – In June 2018 the Library stopped acquiring new films, however in October 2018 a subsequent subscription was started to the Criterion Collection, Media Education Foundation Collection and California Newsreel Collection. Alternative streaming video services include Docuseek2 and Films on Demand.

03/31/18 – BMJ Clinical Evidence – discontinued by vendor, all content to be archived at PubMed Central; some content is moving to BMJ Best Practice.
