3rd Floor Restrooms Open

June 10, 2019

College Library staff are pleased to announce the re-opening of both the men’s and women’s restrooms on the 3rd floor of the library in Helen C. White Hall. Although some finishing details still need to be addressed, the spaces are functional and available – just in time for the first day of SOAR advising on Friday, June 7. The spaces, which nearly double the capacity of the old facilities, also include handicapped-accessible doors and stalls. Another much-valued feature are the many small shelves scattered throughout the space. There is finally a place to set down one’s phone and/or water bottle!

The renovation of the women’s restrooms on the 1st and 2nd floors continues and the men’s room on the 2nd floor has been converted to a women’s room, at least until Phase II of the remodeling project is completed (probably around July 4th). As of this writing, restrooms for women are available on the library’s 2nd and 3rd floor, for men on the 1st and 3rd floor, and for those seeking a gender-neutral option, the library still recommends the single stalls in the foyer of Shannon Hall at the Memorial Union. When Phase II is complete, one of the two new gender-neutral restrooms will be available on the west side of the library’s first floor.

As always, College Library is grateful to its staff, visitors, and campus partners for accommodating the noise, dust, and general commotion during the construction phase. We would also like to once again thank the Chancellor’s Office for allocating gift monies to fund this project and FP&M for their timeline and project coordination.
