Welcome New Security Officer

March 2, 2017

Heather Gautsch recently joined the staff of the General Library System as a security officer. Although based in College Library, she will respond to calls for security-related assistance from other campus libraries. Heather will also make evening security rounds in Memorial Library and check-in with staff at Steenbock Library on a routine basis.

Prior to joining the libraries, Heather worked as a security officer at Allied Universal, primarily at the Oscar Mayer plant in Madison. Heather is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Iraq in 2006-07. While there, Heather managed all phases of vehicle transport and operated vehicles in support of combat operations. She also provided security at check points in Taji – where she worked closely with Iraqi soldiers and civilians. Since returning from Iraq, Heather served in the Wisconsin National Guard and the US Army Reserve until 2015. She has attended Western Technical College in LaCrosse and is currently attending MATC, where she is pursuing a degree in visual communications.

Please join us in welcoming Heather to her new role in campus libraries.
