Open House for DesignLab

Staff and consultants at DesignLab and the Media Studio classrooms in College Library are hosting an Open House on Friday, Feb. 8, from 2:30 to 5pm.  Stop by to view the space and see what kinds of help are available for digital media projects.

DesignLab is a media lab and design consultancy dedicated to improving students’ digital communication skills. Through one-on-one and small group consultations, their design consultants help students hone the conceptual, aesthetic, and technical skills they need to work effectively in digital media.  As the Writing Center helps students with grammar and sentence structure, the DesignLab consultants are trained to help students design smart media such as video essays, theory comix, scientific posters, and presentations. Working in smart media means designing knowledge with digital images, text, sound, and data to present ideas in different forms and reach diverse audiences.
