Exceptional Student Assistants Recognized
On Thursday, Dec. 6, College Library held their semi-annual Student Appreciation Party and recognized the efforts of two exceptional student assistants – Amber S., who works in Circulation, and Kia H., an assistant in the Collection Management unit. The “Excellence-in-Service” award is given each semester to two students who excel at the following criteria:
- Provides outstanding public service/assistance to all patrons of College Library, including students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests.
- Demonstrates exemplary working relationships with other student assistants and other staff of College Library.
- Contributes to establishing a welcoming learning and research environment.
- High-productivity coupled with teamwork, leadership, and/or cooperation.
- Shows creativity, initiative, and independence that positively influences library services.
Kia, whose efforts at the library are often “behind-the-scenes,” works at processing new books and weeding old ones. Her nominator noted, “The past two years have been filled with lots of change in managing the collection at College Library, but Kia has been great through all of it. She helped us figure out more efficient ways of processing books and provided great feedback on areas we had questions about. She has been a model employee and great student worker.”
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to both Amber and Kia and to all of the student assistants at College Library. We could not do it without you!
