Today’s Finals Event

May 16, 2012

Have a Candy-licious Day! On Wednesday there is free candy at the library’s service desks. Get a little boost of sugar to help you “study strong.”

Who can take a sunrise, sprinkle it with dew, cover it with choc’late and a miracle or two? Both the Candy Man and Helen C., that’s who. Candy Man was recorded originally for the film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory in 1971, and then released by Sammy Davis Jr., reaching number 1 on the Billboard charts in June 1972. A perfect soundtrack to our 1971-72 celebration of College Library’s 40th anniversary.

Continue to enjoy the 70’s themed coloring pages all week and help decorate the 1st floor of College Library. Use those earth-toned crayons to make an authentic representation of favorite 70s items – pet rocks, sea monkeys, bell-bottoms, etc., and caption the image with encouragement to study strong! If you prefer to color online, there are virtual coloring pages available too! Tweet photos of your 1970’s celebration of College Library’s 40th anniversary using the hashtag #collegeat40 and we’ll feature it on our Web page and Facebook.

All week long, the UW-Madison libraries are offering extended hours and finals week activitiesCheck out the full schedule of College Library events and share your end-of-semester experiences on Twitter using #studystrong.
