Hone Your Library Skills

January 23, 2012

College Library is offering two classes this week for those interested in learning to navigate library resources. On Wed., Jan. 25, stop by for a “UW-Madison Libraries: What You Really Need to Know” workshop from 4-5pm in Room 1193D. This workshop provides an introduction to the many things campus libraries have to offer: the library catalog, journal databases, conveniences such as book retrieval and your online library account, and ways to get help finding and using campus library resources.

The next day we’re hosting a “Google for Academic Research” workshop, also from 4-5pm in Room 1193D. Become a power-searcher and learn how to remove the clutter and quickly locate quality resources. Get hands-on practice using Google Apps, Google Scholar, and Google Book Search.
