Finals Week Events

May 12, 2011

The spring semester finals theme at College Library is “Show us what Study Strong looks like” and offers a variety of ways to share your exam week experiences. Feel like protesting the stress of finals? Want to feel solidarity with others who are studying? Come together in the unity of the finals week sentiment: Study Strong!

The schedule of events and give-aways sponsored by the library and campus partners is as follows:

Thursday, May 5th: Photo booth: get your picture taken to “Show us what Study Strong looks like!” We’ll feature selected images in Flickr and Facebook.
1st Floor Center from 3-4pm and 8-9pm

Friday, May 6th: Open Book Cafe coffee give-away! From 7pm-2am, get free regular coffee, tea or hot chocolate, courtesy of the Wisconsin Union.
The photo booth will be available again on Friday from 12-2pm.

Saturday, May 7th: GUTS Study Day! From noon until midnight, GUTS tutors are available on study day to help with all your last-minute tutoring needs. They’ll have free coffee and treats for those receiving assistance. Sponsored by the Division of Student Life.

Available all week: Coloring pages (Bucky says “This is what Study Strong looks like!) available as a brief diversion from your studies. Post your finished pages (with blue painters tape… won’t leave a mark!) at the first floor Information Desk.

Send us your photos expressing “This is what Study Strong looks like” even if you can’t stop by the Photo Booth. Email helenc@library.wisc.edu or submit online. See the submitted photos on our Flickr photostream.

As usual, we expect that Bucky Badger himself will stop by the library a couple of times.

Thank you to all the campus partners who assist with these events, the volunteers of Dogs on Call, and funding support from the John M. Gaus fund and the library director for purchase of supplies and giveaways.

Other campus libraries also offer extended hours and finals week events.
