Plants in College Library

October 26, 2009

Thanks to student feedback on improving College Library, we’ve added some plants to the 3rd floor center study area. Our goal is to test how well these plant species thrive in the College Library environment with our north-facing windows and indirect light.

We researched plant species and purchased a few different types to see what will work and how much maintenance is required. Not only do plants help warm up the overall look of the space, they add oxygen to the atmosphere, providing benefits to tired students putting in hours of studying. If these work well, we’ll seek funding to provide more plants throughout the library.

Take a look at the plant selections on our Flickr site, but better yet, visit the 3rd floor center and see them in person. Let us know what you think!
