The Helen C. House Party

August 28, 2009

On Thursday, September 10, College Library will be hosting the first ever Helen C. House Party from 7 to 11 p.m. With an emphasis on games, especially those in the library’s collection, the party will feature video games (Beatles Rock Band, anyone?), board games, carnival games, and an augmented reality game we’ve dubbed “Bibliodefenders.” In addition, various sections of the library will be turned over to arts & crafts, a dance party, and a screening of the movie Iron Man. The “silent study room” on 3rd floor may or may not be silent that evening – it all depends upon the teams playing Ninja tag.

Sponsors include Pepsi (the game players will be well-hydrated) and Frito-Lay. Supplementing the cotton candy and popcorn, students will also be able to enjoy a ton of free food from local restaurants such as Gumby’s, Milio’s, Ian’s Pizza, Qdoba, and Rocky Rococo.

As a Wisconsin Welcome activity, the party is free and open to all students. Check out our website for more details.
