Semiology–Art + Language

January 26, 2018

Currently on display in the Kohler Art Library is Semiology, a show about art and language. Curated by University of Wisconsin-Madison MFA students Claire Wilson and Kaylyn Gerenz, the pieces in this exhibit investigate and incorporate text and the structures of language. Collectively these pieces offer a fresh take on what it is to “read” an artwork.

Participating artists include: Jack Damer, Michael Duffy, Carissa Heinrichs, Tom Loeser, Stephen Perkins, Guzzo Pinc, Lindi Shi, and Chelsea Thompto.

Semiology runs from November 27, 2017 – February 1, 2017.

A reception will be held on January 26 from 4:45 to 6:00 pm.
