Create an Account

Before you can request and view Special Collections materials, you will need to create an Archives and Special Collections account. You can do so at our Archives and Special Collections Account website.

Note: If you have already created an Archives and Special Collections account at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Archives or the Wisconsin Historical Society, you do not need to create a new account for Special Collections. Instead, you can use the same login information.

Once you have created an account, you will be able to request Special Collections materials from the Library Catalog. To request materials, look for the “View in a Reading Room” button when viewing items in the catalog.
