New and Notable at UW-Madison Libraries

This exhibit afforded a glimpse into the wide and colorful variety of collections in various campus libraries, with an emphasis on new and notable acquisitions. Exhibit cases filled with books of many shapes and sizes, manuscripts, postcards, photographs, pamphlets, records and tapes, games, and other objects (even a softball!) focused on the following:  

  • Artistic Responses, curated by Micaela Sullivan-Fowler (Ebling Library), drawing on materials from Ebling’s Rare Books & Special Collections
  • Artists’ Books, curated by Anna Simon (Kohler Art Library), drawing on materials from Kohler Art Library
  • Dante’s Divine Comedy, curated by Laura Martin (International and Area Studies) and Lisa Wettleson, drawing on materials from Special Collections
  • Douglas Hill Collection, curated by Jeanette L. Casey (Mills Music Library), drawing on materials from Mills Music Library
  • Encounters with Peyote, 1619-1963, curated by Laura Martin (International and Area Studies), Micaela Sullivan-Fowler (Ebling Library), and Hannah Swan (American Institute of the History of Pharmacy), drawing on materials from American Institute of the History of Pharmacy, Ebling Library, and Special Collections
  • Glacier, curated by Robin Rider (Special Collections) and Anna Simon (Kohler Art Library), exhibiting a very large book from Special Collections
  • Independent Publications from Mexico and Peru, curated by Laura Martin (International and Area Studies), drawing on materials from Special Collections
