The image comes from A book of Shakespeare’s songs (New York: G. Schirmer, 1903) with musical settings by various composers, the whole arranged and decorated by Edward Edwards. Department of Special Collections, Memorial Library, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Our copy is no. 28 of 200, gift of the publisher to the library. Although “Blow, blow, thou winter wind,” from As you like it, speaks as much of the coldness of human behavior as of winter winds, we hope your winter is filled with warmth, whatever the weather.
