The McBurney Center Learning Resources Room offers specialized equipment and other reading resources for registered students with physical, learning, or other disabilities. This space is provided by McBurney Disability Resource Center in partnership with campus libraries. There are a total of 4 reading resource rooms on campus.

Accessing the Resource Room

Registered students with disabilities must request key Circulation Desk on first floor (608) 262-3343.


  • Optalec Clear View 500 CCTV (Video Magnifier),
  • Computers with JAWS, Duxbury, Juliet Braille embosser, Kurzweil 3000, Dragon Naturally Speaking
  • Telex Scholar DAISY & Learning Ally (was previously called RFB&D) compatible audio book CD player , 4-track tape player, Perkins brailler
  • Additional equipment: screen magnifier, headset, PC, telephone, typewriter, text enlargers, trackball mouse, and adaptive keyboards

Please note that software assistance is not generally provided. Users should enroll in IT workshops offered by DoIT.
