Accessing the Library

The Center for Limnology is committed to the full inclusion of individuals with disabilities. Our Hasler Laboratory and Trout Lake Station facilities were built before the Americans with Disabilities Act and are not fully ADA accessible. Building Map

  • to find the Hasler Laboratory for Limnology, go north on North Park Street, towards Lake Mendota. The road curves to the left just past College Library and Memorial Union. Continue along the lakeshore, past the Water Resources building, to come to the Hasler Laboratory for Limnology.
  • The Limnology Library is located on the second floor of the Arthur D. Hasler Laboratory for Limnology.

Entrances

Elevators

  • There are no elevators available at Hasler Lab.

Parking & Transportation

  • Visitor parking is available under Helen C. White Hall from N. Park St entrances.
    • Visitor Parking is available Lot 6 (Street Level lot) at all times, but is often Full.
    • Visitor parking is available in Lot 6 (Lower Level lot) on evenings and weekends.

Emergency / Evacuation Procedures

  • If you cannot self-evacuate for any reason, dial 9-1-1 and state your location. UWPD dispatchers will relay this information to responding personnel.

Interior Space Accessibility

Accessible Furniture

  • The library lacks furniture that accommodates users with mobility or other accessibility needs.

Reservable Study Rooms and Spaces

  • The Libraries have many reservable study spaces. Click here to make a reservation.
  • The Hasler Lab has a reservable room available for zoom calls. The room is only reservable to CFL affiliates and its available through the CFL User Guide.

Distraction-free Spaces

  • The Limnology Library is a collaborative space where meetings and group work occur. It is not a distraction-free environment.

Restrooms

  • The Hasler Lab has gendered bathroom on the second floor that are not ADA Accessible.

Inaccessible Spaces

  • The Library is located on the second floor of the Hasler Lab which does not have an elevator. For accommodation at the Limnology Library please contact Monet Hutchins at monet.hutchins@wisc.edu

Lighting

  • All rooms use energy saving lights. If no one has moved in a room for a certain amount of time, the lights will turn off. After movement is detected the lights will flicker back on.
