TDM Studio

TDM Studio is an online text and data mining tool for research, teaching and learning. It allows users to collect datasets from content available through UW-Madison Libraries’ subscription to ProQuest. Content available includes current and historical newspapers, dissertations and theses, scholarly journals, and primary sources from collections in the fields of science, technology, medicine, public policy, history and literature.

There are two paths to analysis available in TDM Studio:

  • TDM Studio Visualization is designed for users of all levels to quickly spot trends and generate insights. The visualization dashboard offers tools for creating geographic, topic modeling, and sentiment analysis visualizations.
  • TDM Studio Workbench is designed for researchers who use their own coding methodologies. The workbench provides access to Jupyter Notebooks with customizable scripts. For documentation on using Jupyter Notebooks in TDM Studio and FAQs please see the TDM Studio Workbench Quick Start Guide
