Distance Services

COVID-19 Update Regarding Distance Services

Distance Services have resumed for graduate students, faculty, and staff.  Please see Obtaining Library Materials for instructions on requesting materials.

Undergraduates may place requests for chapters or specific pages from books through Interlibrary Loan.  If you are unsure which chapters or pages to request, please Ask a Librarian for assistance.
This update supersedes other information on this page until future notice.

Distance Library Services delivers library materials digitally or ships directly to your location.

Distance Library Services are intended for UW-Madison students, faculty, and staff that reside and work outside of Dane County – including dissertators, students taking distance courses, and faculty on sabbatical.

Distance Library Services is a free service. You must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • You are a registered student of UW-Madison or faculty/staff employed by UW-Madison
  • You are living and work outside of Dane County
  • You do not regularly commute to campus
