Tutoring

While there are many options for additional tutoring, don’t forget that your instructor also has Office Hours set aside to help you – check your course syllabus for their schedule.

Mathematics Tutoring Options

Math Learning Center (MLC)

The MLC offers free drop-in tutoring and study skills workshops. Math Department TA’s and Tutors are available to assist students working together with other students in the same course. For their schedule and more information, see the MLC website.

Private Tutors

The Math Department maintains a list of qualified private tutors. Tutors determine their own hourly rates and the courses (including some High School) for which they are willing to tutor.

Physics Tutoring Options

Physics Learning Center (PLC)

The PLC is a student-support organization that provides a physics learning community for students in Physics 103, 104, 207, and 208. While these sessions are free, they do require students to sign up. For their schedule and more information, see the PLC website.

Undergraduate Learning Center (ULC)

The ULC provides tutoring and academic support programs for undergraduates interested in studying engineering – including Physics 201 and 202. They have drop-in hours at Wendt Commons and additional resources on the ULC website.

Greater University Tutoring Service (GUTS)

GUTS offers free peer tutoring for most Math and Physics courses. There is a drop in center on the 2nd floor of College Library (Helen C. White) and the main floor of Steenbock Library.
