Advance emerging research

  • Create an organizational structure for research services that supports innovation, partnership, and community building
  • Create a programmatic, agile, user-focused research services portfolio and service roadmap that develops areas of excellence that supports the UW-Madison research environment and is recognized by campus
  • Increase the visibility of the Libraries as partners in emerging research through improved communication and storytelling

Engage in educational innovation

  • Collect and analyze data to enhance holistic library support for teaching, learning, and research

Revitalize spaces to enable research and learning

  • Create an organizational framework to articulate and implement the Libraries space vision and priorities, recognizing coordination among centralized and partner libraries
  • Advance long-term space plan to balance collections stewardship and evolving user needs
  • Position the Libraries as a campus leader in a modern research support environment through multiple technology-rich spaces and a corresponding comprehensive suite of services that enable us to further research excellence, complement academic programs and research education, foster vibrant research communities, and showcase innovative and interdisciplinary scholarship
  • Increase awareness and discoverability of the Libraries varied spaces and space services

Develop organizational strength

  • Continue to grow as a learning organization by clarifying, supporting, and sharing opportunities for professional development and advancement
