The University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries magazine highlights news, events, exhibits, collections and other issues of interest within the UW-Madison Libraries. It also showcases our development work with the University of Wisconsin Foundation, our wonderful donors, and special news from the UW-Madison Friends of the Library.
In the Fall 2017 issue we have a lot of big news to share! In September, our Vice Provost for Libraries, Ed Van Gemert, announced his plans to retire this coming May, 2018 (stay tuned in the spring 2018 issue for a farewell to him). Our University Archivist, David Null, also announced his December 2017 retirement plans. The Libraries unveiled our long-term facilities master plan, after more than a year of in-depth studies and work with consultants and departments across campus. Additionally, we share stories that highlight everything from our special collections, our work partnering with DoIT on a special program for high school students, the 40th anniversary celebration of the Office of the Gender and Women’s Studies Librarian, and our ongoing work with the Wisconsin School of Business on the new Learning Commons (coming spring 2018).
