ESL 117 Session 1 Online Module

The UW-Madison Libraries re-designed the first session of the two-part library engagement with the course English as a Second Language 117.

The new course, which students complete before visiting the library, has modernized content and scaffolded student engagement. The module includes four parts: generating questions, finding background information, finding substantive sources, and finding scholarly sources. It is an essential component in teaching the skills needed for students to complete their first college-level research assignment.
