Scholarly Communication

The UW-Madison Libraries support a system of scholarly communication that is responsive to the needs of the academy and—in advancement of the Wisconsin Idea and in alignment with our university’s guiding principles—reflects the nature of scholarship and research as a public good.

To this end, the libraries will:

  • Connect the members of the university community to the resources they need to make informed decisions about creating, managing, and sharing the knowledge they create.
  • Identify, promote, and create systems that facilitate knowledge creation, sharing, and re-use.
