UW Family Gardening Day (May 6)

May 2, 2017

Take a break from your studies and put some “spring” in your step with a visit to our neighborhood, Saturday, May 6.  From 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM, the D.C. Smith GreenhouseAllen Centennial Garden and Steenbock Library will welcome campus and community guests to find inspiration for gardens, large and small, with tours, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.

The BioCommons Ambassadors will inspire gardeners with a take-home exercise in “Bottle Biology.” Steenbock staff will supply information about campus and community gardening collections, venues and services.

Look for our tents and tables, outside, near the front entrance to the library. When you enter our building, you will also have an opportunity to browse a selection of titles from our gardening collections.

For more information about the UW Family Gardening Day, visit the Science Outreach or Facebook pages.

Download and print a copy of the event “passport“–activity for the kids to collect stamps on one side; guide to event locations and activities on the flip.
