Chancellor Rebecca Blank and a review committee of campus faculty, staff and students selected Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City as the 2016-2017 common book selection for the UW-Madison campus.
Matthew Desmond goes deep, among Milwaukee’s neighborhoods, to reveal the plight of families facing eviction. Importantly, he examines the consequences of insufficient, affordable housing.
Go Big Read is UW-Madison’s common book program where students, staff and the community are invited to read the same book then participate in a variety of related programs in-and-out of the classroom.
