Save the date to attend the Go Big Read signature event! Author, lawyer and advocate for justice, Bryan Stevenson, will deliver his public presentation on Monday, October 26, beginning at 7:00 PM in Varsity Hall, Union South.
“Go Big Read” is UW-Madison’s common book program where students, staff and the community are invited to read the same book, then participate in a variety of related programs in-and-out of the classroom.
Chancellor Blank invited the review committee to consider those nominated titles that examined issues of inequality in the United States. Upon selection of Just Mercy she said, “Bryan Stevenson’s book raises tough and important questions about inequalities in the criminal justice system. Now is a particularly good time to hold these conversations, as UW-Madison students, staff and faculty grapple with the ways in which these larger national issues affect our own community.”
