Social Cinema, Food Chains (Mar 11)

March 10, 2015

As part of the Social Cinema series, the Marquee Theater at Union South will host a free screening of Food Chains, a searing documentary by Sanjay Rawal that examines the human cost of the US food system and efforts by Florida farmworkers (the Coalition of Immokalee Workers), and partnering retailers, to transform working conditions.

Following the film, special guests, Jose Oliva from the Food Chain Workers Alliance and Gerardo Reyes from the CIW will lead discussion.

The screening of Food Chains has been co-sponsored by the Workers’ Rights Center, the Interfaith Coalition for Worker Justice, Labor & Working Class Studies Project, the Union of Immigrant Workers, and the South Central Federation of Labor.  For more information, visit the Havens Center site.
